What I think About This Book:

 Another GREAT book filled to the rim with humor, trouble, and fun. Just like the other books humor is normally the trouble and just joins in!

Rachel is a sour puss during most of the book because Mary moved away. But at the end she learns a BIG lesson.

What I think About This Book:

This is another GREAT book by Wanda E. Brunstetter. Rachel learns aout self-control and that she can’t be in control of everything. Plus she learned that she needs to be patient and not rush through everything.

Even Jacob learned that he needs to be more patient.

But they still have trouble, humor, and fun.

“buggy” with her lack of patience, which brings trouble at

every turn-from sledding into a creek to ruining a yummy

shoofly pie, to flunking a test in school to being dragged

facedown into the snow. Will Rachel spend the entire winter

getting into more trouble than her Lancaster County family

and schoolmates can handle? Or will she finally discover that

patience has its own reward?

I recommend this for elementary reading level like I have for all the other books.

About the Main Characters:

Rachel: The sweet, fun, humorous, trouble-some 10 year old. Trouble finds her before she finds it. Always.

Mary: Rachel’s best friend and favorite cousin. Mary will always follow Rachel, but never ends up in trouble.

Jacob: Rachel’s bothersome brother who is always teasing. Jacob never gets in much trouble.

Orlie Troyer: Orlie is the new kid at school who is rotten. From his freckled face to his feet. He wants to humiliate Rachel any every way, or does he?

Henry: Rachel’s brother who teases but nowhere near as much as Jacob does.

Esther: Esther is Rachel’s only sister who is 19, and is engaged (but get’s married in this book J).

Tom: Sometimes referred to ‘Old Tom’ is the Yoder’s carriage horse. A kind, loving ole’ thing.

What I think About This Book:

This book is just as great as the first one. Plus it contains the same humor, trouble, and fun.

The humor is even better in this book I think because this book has a boy named Orlie who is just as much trouble as Rachel is, maybe even more!

On The Back:

And that’s where trouble finds her once again! Except this

time, trouble has a freckled face and an unruly cowlick. His

name is Orlie, and he seems determined to humiliate this

ten-year-old Amish girl at every turn. Can any good

come out of Rachel and Orlie’s endless antics? Join Rachel as

she learns life lessons about love and forgiveness in the rolling

hills of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

 I would still recommend this for elementary reading level. I still enjoy the book series and I hope I don’t ever STOP enjoying them!

The Rachel Yoder Series is one of my FAVORITE series. It’s filled with humor, fun, and trouble. But I haven’t been able to read them all ‘til Adelaide lent me some of the books. So with this book report, I hope YOU will go and get these books and read them!

Rachel: A very active, trouble-some, 9/10 year-old girl who always, no matter if she’s doing something good or not, always end up in trouble.

Mary: Rachel’s favorite cousin who does most everything with her trouble-some cousin, but doesn’t end up in trouble.

Jacob: Rachel’s 11 year-old brother who is always teasing Rachel by calling her a bensel (silly child. And never, ever ends up in trouble (well, not as often as Rachel).

Henry: Rachel’s 16 year-old brother who teases, but not as much as Jacob.

Esther: Rachel’s 19 year-old sister, who is engaged.

Rudy King: Whom Esther is engaged to.

Mom: Rachel’s mother who is stern, but always loving.

What I think about the book:

 Like I said above, this book is filled to the rim with trouble, humor, and fun. Anyone should enjoy this book (series). Especially, if you like Amish stories and characters.

 Humor: Humor is the main thing, basically, in this story. Humor is mostly from the beginning of the trouble.

Trouble: Trouble is probably my favorite part in this book. The trouble sometimes is the humor of it all.

Fun: This book can be so fun you have it with you all the time (me). It is totally gripping.

School’s out! And so is an energetic Amish girl with trouble

following close on her barefooted heels! When nine-year-old

Rachel Yoder isn’t bringing frogs to church or taking wild

buggy rides, she’s setting fireflies free and trying out new

skateboards in all the wrong places. Will Rachel’s friends and

 family survive the mischief she brings into their live-and

will Rachel learn any life lessons along the way?

I would recommend this for elementary reader level. The only thing is that there is Pennsylvania Dutch, BUT there is a glossary at the beginning.

 But I’m in middle-school and still LOVE the series so maybe other middle-school girls would like it too.
