Plus, just to make matters worse, there is only 1 copy of this book!!! Wah….. hoping he’ll finish it soon. Though I DID NOT get the 2nd book, I got the 3rd (I COULD have gotten the 2nd book, I should have paid more attention, but, sadly, I didn’tL) But I REALLY enjoyed this book. Canterwood Crest  #2: Chasing  Blue

author(s):   Jessica Burkhart

age level:  11 and up

stars: *****

violence: none

pages: 257

main characters:  Sasha, Jacob, Charm, Heather, Mr.Conner
about the main characters:
Sasha is in 7th grade at a boarding school.

She has a horse named Charm.

Her new riding partner is Heather.

Jacob is a boy at the school who is liked by both Sasha and Heather.

Mr. Conner is the riding teacher.

say what you think about the book:

I like the book a lot

What it says on the back:

Now that Sasha Silver and her horse, Charm, have proven that they’re worthy competitors for the Canterwood Crest  equestrian team, Sasha’s  psyched to get back to school… until self- proclaimed it girl, queen bee, and owner of the I’m –so-way-better-than-you-are attitude , Heather Fox , is assigned as Sasha’s riding partner. Not. Good. And when Heather starts spending a little too much time with Sasha’s almost- boy friend , Jacob, their partnership is put to the ultimate test.

I would recommend the book to 11 -13 year olds who like horses.

Hope you enjoy this book,
   Amanda

Left Behind >The Kids< Through the Flames

FINALLY! So sorry so late. I was, uhh, too involved in the later part of the series. I’m on the 31st book now! Now onto the report!

Series: Left Behind >The Kids<

Book 3: Through the Flames

Authors: Jerry B. Jenkins & Tim LaHaye

Age Level: 9 & up

Stars: 5++

Violence:
  • ·       Well, there are 2 murders (well, one we find out in book 2, but don’t know that it was a murder), someone purposely set a building on fire, which results in a fireman dying, and close calls. So okay, there’s a lot of violence in this book. But it doesn’t seem that scary since this is my second time reading it.

Pages: 143

Main Characters:

Judd Thompson Jr.

Vikki Bryne

Lionel Washington

Ryan Daley

Bruce Barnes

LeRoy Banks

Talia Grey

What I Think About this Book:
So it went to not as gripping to very gripping. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, ‘Well, if it was totally gripping, why didn’t she finish it sooner??’ Well, because the later series is soooo toootally MORE gripping! But we’ll save that for another book report. ;) SO, anyway back to the report! Such a great book, SO totally amazing, so great, I’m on the 4th chapter in the 4th book!! But I won’t be doing that one since Adelaide already did it!!! So back to the book, READ IT!!! Great series, great book!!

From the Book:

Judd: The farther Judd got from the burning building, the stranger the experience seemed. Was this a dream? Had it really happened? He couldn’t imagine anything as traumatic as losing his family in the Rapture and being left behind, but neither had he ever been through something like this. The sounds of the blaze faded more with each step, and though he saw the shadows of the flames in the darkness, he had to turn and look once more to let the reality set in.
Judd began to pray. He felt sobs rising in his chest as he thanked God that LeRoy, or whoever had done this, had not arrived while Lionel was still in the apartment. Surely he too would have been shot or burned to death.

Vikki: “It’s hard to grow up this way,” Vikki said. “I don’t know about you guys, but I’m having trouble. I have bad dreams, have trouble sleeping, find myself crying over my family, as if they’re all just dead and gone and not in heaven where I know I’ll see them someday. I know we’re all going to be called back to school one of these days, and I can’t imagine sitting through class with all I know now. If this Antichrist guy shows up soon and does sign some sort of contract with Israel, we’re gonna have only seven more years to live.”
    Judd and Lionel sat nodding.

Lionel: Lionel had tried so hard to reach his uncle for God. Judd could only hope that Lionel would eventually accept the fact that these decisions were personal. After all, that was why both he and Lionel had been left behind in the first place. No one could make the decision for them.

Ryan: The one thing Ryan couldn’t get out of his mind was that if this was true and his parents knew it, they would have believed. And for sure they would want him to believe before it was too late. But knowing it was probably true, even believing it, didn’t mean Ryan was accepting it for himself. Because what Vikki Bryne had said was right. If he bought into it, it meant he was admitting that his parents had missed out and were in hell. That was too much to take in now.

I still recommend this book for preteens/youth/teens that don’t totally understand what the Rapture is. I mean, you pick the (this is true for some people, my brothers friend won’t read the first sentence) book up and won’t stop reading ‘til you’ve read the entire thing!! So PLEASE read this series!!!!

Enjoy,

Soul Surfer: ACTUALLY BY BETHANY HAMLITON

Soul Surfer

We all know who Bethany Hamilton is right? You've probably seen the movie (or parts of it), but have you read the book? You better have! I could write 10+ pages on how great this book and Bethany are. But, so you have time to go to the library and get it, I won't.

Author: Bethany Hamilton

Age Level: 6+

Target Audience: ANYONE

Stars: 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
(I don't even know how to say that numbers!;)

Violence: .0(I know, its about a shark attack, but she makes it sooo not scary)

Pages: 213

Main Character: Bethany Hamilton

My Opinion:
Well, I think you know I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!

From the book:
I didn't even scream.
Some people say to me, “Weren't you terrified?” “Didn't you think you'd be eaten alive?” I guess that would be the normal reaction, but it wasn't mine. Maybe I was in shock or denial; maybe I was on autopilot. I'm not really sure, but when I look back on it now, I'm glad of one thing: I'm glad I never saw the shark closing in on me. I'm glad I never had more than a split second to wrap my brain around the fact that I was being attacked. If I had, I'm not sure I'd be able to to live with the nightmares or ever go back in the water again . . .

I would do a lot of things (not everything) for someone to read this book. It's an amazing book and I hope you agree with me. :)

Enjoy,
Adelaide

The Answers Begin (Ali and Her Enemies)

The Answers Begin

“China claims none of the 5th grade girls wrote that note, but she suspects Aloha if anyone” said Mrs. Watson. “I don't get it, I mean, I believe China didn't do it, she proved it. And she made some good points about the other girls, too. But if she's lying . . .”
“She'll be in big trouble?” finished Ali.
“Not exactly, I would punish her if she did write the note anyway so it would be her parents' punishment that would be for the lying.” replied Mrs. Watson. “Oh, and I don't think she is lying about Aloha, I mean they're BFFs.”
“I have another idea,” said Mr. Martinez, “let’s read the note, acting like it was found on the ground, then, over the intercom, ask if anyone knows who wrote it.”
“Ok, but no one will come fourth, I know those kids.  Especially Aloha.” replied Mrs. Watson “Ali, go to the intercom and ask for Aloha Tate to come immediately.”
 “Yes Ma'am”
Aloha was not scared as she walked to the office. She didn't know why she had to go down, but she figured it was Mrs. Watson wanted to award her for making Ali stop acting stupid.
“Mrs. Watson, what a pleasure to see you!” Aloha exclaimed.
“I wish I could say the same to you,” Mrs. Watson replied, “Do you know anything about this note?”
“Only if you want me to” Aloha answered.
“Well, I certainly don't want you to. Do you know how mean this is?”  said Mrs. Watson
“Well if you don't want me to know anything about it . . .”
“Don't even try, we all know, ok, I KNOW. Do you know your mom's phone number?”
“Yes.”
“Oh wait we have it anyway.”
“But I want to tell it to you, she got a new iPhone.”
“Her number hasn't changed”
“Fine...”
