Part 3: The Answers are Given

“Mrs. Tate, I hope Aloha's suspense from school doesn't affect your schedule too much.” Mrs. Watson said as Mrs. Tate and Aloha left her office. Aloha was suspended for 3 days because she was bulling Ali Boggs.

“So I think we'll start with some warm up exercisers.” Mrs. Rangel said. Aloha was on the swim team now, as punishment. She was NOT having fun. The worst thing was that Ali's older brother, Zeki Boggs was on the team too. And he was the fastest swimmer.
“How many times do I have to tell you, I don't want to be here and I'm NOT going to join the class!” Aloha said in protest.
“GET IN THE POOL, ALOHA!!” Mrs. Rangel yelled. Confused, the lifeguard leaned over to look into the pool and fell in.

The swim team punishment didn't work. But Aloha learned her lesson: Don't mess with the teacher on the swim team or she'll through your phone in the pool. And also, don't mess with Ali Boggs.

Bruno Diaries: MARCH 20, 2013

March 20, 2013 ,
Well I spent the night in the shed, or gudung, as my owners call it. I'm gonna write this down so I remember: I call the big one cuddle, 'cuz she cuddles, the medium one I call awe, 'cuz she goes "awe", and the little one I call Bounce, you get the point of that one. Now let's remember, the girls' friends came over today so that was fun. Oh and ... never mind that was a couple days ago.
Gotta go ...

Based on her lovable puppy, Bruno.

Sadly, this will be the last of the Bruno Diaries because Bruno died about a week ago. :'( Very sad for everyone that knew him.

Bruno Diaries: MARCH 16, 2013

March 16, 2013
My name is Bruno. I am 6 weeks old and VERY cute. Today I was stuck in a pot. Don't ask me why. I don't know. But this lady took the roof of (she must be VERY strong) and then she put it back on, only she must have been getting tired of holding it 'cuz she kinda threw it back on.  And then she started to make really funny sounds. I think it’s called "laughing".  Or something like that.  Anyway then they took me out. WHAT A RELIEF!!!! And guess what?! Emily came over!!! She smelled like my Mommy! And today I learned something: COLLARS ITCH. Period. And also, rags don't taste very good. They kept stuffing them in my mouth. Anybody know why?  Well I know how to get up my perch now. It's fun. I'll add some pics.

Soul Surfer: ACTUALLY BY BETHANY HAMLITON

Soul Surfer

We all know who Bethany Hamilton is right? You've probably seen the movie (or parts of it), but have you read the book? You better have! I could write 10+ pages on how great this book and Bethany are. But, so you have time to go to the library and get it, I won't.

Author: Bethany Hamilton

Age Level: 6+

Target Audience: ANYONE

Stars: 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
(I don't even know how to say that numbers!;)

Violence: .0(I know, its about a shark attack, but she makes it sooo not scary)

Pages: 213

Main Character: Bethany Hamilton

My Opinion:
Well, I think you know I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!

From the book:
I didn't even scream.
Some people say to me, “Weren't you terrified?” “Didn't you think you'd be eaten alive?” I guess that would be the normal reaction, but it wasn't mine. Maybe I was in shock or denial; maybe I was on autopilot. I'm not really sure, but when I look back on it now, I'm glad of one thing: I'm glad I never saw the shark closing in on me. I'm glad I never had more than a split second to wrap my brain around the fact that I was being attacked. If I had, I'm not sure I'd be able to to live with the nightmares or ever go back in the water again . . .

I would do a lot of things (not everything) for someone to read this book. It's an amazing book and I hope you agree with me. :)

Enjoy,
Adelaide

The Answers Begin (Ali and Her Enemies)

The Answers Begin

“China claims none of the 5th grade girls wrote that note, but she suspects Aloha if anyone” said Mrs. Watson. “I don't get it, I mean, I believe China didn't do it, she proved it. And she made some good points about the other girls, too. But if she's lying . . .”
“She'll be in big trouble?” finished Ali.
“Not exactly, I would punish her if she did write the note anyway so it would be her parents' punishment that would be for the lying.” replied Mrs. Watson. “Oh, and I don't think she is lying about Aloha, I mean they're BFFs.”
“I have another idea,” said Mr. Martinez, “let’s read the note, acting like it was found on the ground, then, over the intercom, ask if anyone knows who wrote it.”
“Ok, but no one will come fourth, I know those kids.  Especially Aloha.” replied Mrs. Watson “Ali, go to the intercom and ask for Aloha Tate to come immediately.”
 “Yes Ma'am”
Aloha was not scared as she walked to the office. She didn't know why she had to go down, but she figured it was Mrs. Watson wanted to award her for making Ali stop acting stupid.
“Mrs. Watson, what a pleasure to see you!” Aloha exclaimed.
“I wish I could say the same to you,” Mrs. Watson replied, “Do you know anything about this note?”
“Only if you want me to” Aloha answered.
“Well, I certainly don't want you to. Do you know how mean this is?”  said Mrs. Watson
“Well if you don't want me to know anything about it . . .”
“Don't even try, we all know, ok, I KNOW. Do you know your mom's phone number?”
“Yes.”
“Oh wait we have it anyway.”
“But I want to tell it to you, she got a new iPhone.”
“Her number hasn't changed”
“Fine...”

The Questions Start

The Questions Start
Ali was mad. 'What kind of person would do such a thing to little 3rd grade girl?' she thought. Ali decided to show it to Miss Woods, who showed it to Mr. Mr. Martinez, who thought something, should be done about it.
Could all the 5th grade girls come to the office? If it is not possible or if you don't want to, you don't have to. Mrs. Watson announced over the intercom.
They'll never come. I know those girls. Mr. Martinez said.
I had Aloha; you never know with her, she figures out plots easily. I COULD NOT pull a prank on her on April fools day. No matter what. Miss Woods said.
Aloha and China looked at each other.
      'Should we go?' mouthed China.
      'Later' Aloha mouthed back.
     What!? China accidentally said, Oops.
China, do you have something to say? said Mr. Black, do I need to do a note check?
     No, sir, replied China.
Well, then I think you should head down to the office.
     Yes sir.
China! Only you wanted to come? Mr. Martinez was surprised
I was sent here by my teacher, I was called on the intercom.
Oh, right. Ill get Mrs. Watson for you.
     Thanks
Did you send a note to Ali lately? asked Mrs. Watson.
     No China replied.
     Really?
     Yah, can I see it?
Ok Now they were both skeptical.
China looked at the note and then she saw something: China.
What in the world?! My signature doesn't look like that. Here Ill write it for you:
China
Hmm, well, do you know who could have done this? asked Mrs. Watson.
Dakota would be my best guess, but I don't think any of us would do something like that, plus we can all write each other signatures. Except Aloha. replied China
Good point, I'll ask someone else. Any ideas?
    Aloha.

Ali and Her Enemies: Part One

Ali and Her Enemies
By, Adelaide

Chapter One
The Fun
“Can you please pass the salt?” asked Ali. She was at school, pretending to think she was at home. It was a lot of fun, especially to see her teacher react. But her teacher didn't, she just said “Ok, here you go”, and passed her a bag of salt. “But wait, you don't have anything to go with your salt, here are some French fries,” Miss Woods. A couple people snickered.
That afternoon, some more kids started doing the same thing. During P.E., one boy named Ailill Anderson was saying “But I don’t want to run around, my favorite T.V. Show is on.” Everyone thought that was just hysterical, “Me too,” said Ali, “Me three” called out another kid, A chorus of “Me ...” filled the gym. “Ok, how about we record them?” Mr. Martinez asked. A soft drone of oks, fines, and awes responded to him.
The next day, Ali found a not in her locker. It said:
Ali,
We agree that your behavior yesterday was childish and foolish. Please grow up. That stuff is for kids.
                                      Sincerely,
                                  Aloha          Alice          Casey

Left Behind >The Kids< Facing The Future

Left Behind >The Kids<: Facing the Future

Well on all Left Behind >The Kids< cover it seems there is a different “theme” color for it. This book is orange. Anyway, as you know, Abrielle Lindsay is also reading this series so I decided I would try it, and know we are trying to figure out how we are supposed to read this series, AT THE SAME TIME, when the library we have only has one copy of each book (except for 1 & 2 but we're done with those already)!!! So I finished book four and since it would be better if I wrote a report for book 4 because I had to skip ¼ of book 3 because of violence, Abrielle Lindsay will do one on book 3. Ok, if you’-re confused at this point so am I. So I will sum this up quickly I skipped ¼ of book 3 becauseofviolence. And here it is if you can't read that: I skipped ¼ of book 3 because of violence. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Bruno

Bruno
The Pug that’s a Mutt
“Aw, he's so cute!! He looks like a little pug!” said Addie one yesterday afternoon. Addie and her 5th grade class were over at Emily's house to watch a movie together.
“What's his name?” said a boy named Andy.
“Well, we haven't named him yet,” replied Emily.
“I'm gonna’ call him Bruno.” Andy decided,
         “That's perfect” cried Addie.
After the movie, everyone was getting picked up. When Addie's mom came, she said “Let’s ask Emily's mom if we can take him when he's ready.”
       “Really!?” Addie cried in amazement.
“Well if they’re giving him away,” Addie's mom said.
So that Wednesday, Bruno, whose name had kinda stuck, went home with Addie, her two sisters, and her mom brought Bruno home for the first time. So that is his story in my words, here is it in his.

The Story of Me, Bruno
You can't exactly say I'm an ordinary pup, I don't really know how great I am, but if my owners fight over me, and their friend says “He's so cute!! I can't stand it!” I guess they like me a lot. BTW (no idea what that means) anyone know what cute is? Anyway let me tell my story from the beginning, if you don't mind.
Well, I started in the shack, as I call it. I lived with my fellow cats, who I even taught to growl (or maybe it was my mom)!! And some day all these kids came in, and started calling me Bruno, so that kinda stuck, apparently.
Anyway, a few days later, I got in this thing, and it moved!! Anyone else think that’s just awesome? Well we went to this place, and I got dropped, which hurt, and then I got into another one of those thingies, (really, anyone got a name for those things?) and we went to another house, and then we went on this bouncy thingy, I think they called it a trampoline. And that was fun. Lots of petting, that’s for sure.
So now I live happily with my new family, I couldn't be happier.

Puppy Place: Scout

The Puppy Place: Scout
I guess you could say I'm reading books like CRAZY this week, and its true. These Books are GREAT!! If I had to pick a series to read for the rest of this year, I would pick The Puppy Place Series. This book is about a German Shepard named Scout. She ends up being a replacement for another Search-and-Rescue dog named Casey who is hurt while rescuing a little girl after an earthquake in Mexico.

Series: The Puppy Place
Book #: 7
Author: Ellen Miles
Age Level: 7+
Target Audience: I think anyone who loves puppies would like this book.
Stars: 5++
Violence: none
Pages: 75
Main Characters: Scout, Lizzie and Charles Peterson
Scout: Scout is a cute little German shepherd. She loves adventure and is a great learner.
Lizzie and Charles Peterson: I think you've heard enough about these guys so if you want to know more scroll down to see my other Puppy Place series Books. ;)
My Thoughts: The Puppy place series is awesome an I REALLY enjoy it! I hope you have it at your local library.
On The Back:
Charles and Lizzie Peterson know a lot about puppies. Thats because the Petersons are a foster family for young dogs. They have an adorable puppy of their own, Buddy, but they still love helping other puppies find homes.
Then Lizzie and Charles meet Scout, a gentle German Shepherd dog who is very good at helping people. A puppy like Scout needs a special owner. Can the Petersons fine the perfect person?

Enjoy,

Kitty Corner: Otis

The Kitty Corner: Otis
OK, so I guess you could say I'm reading more than my normal “2 books in 2 weeks” but it really depends on 3 things for that to be true, a) how much homework I have b) how long my books are and c) how good they are. So this week, I haven't had a lot of homework, these books are short and REALLY good! The Kitty Corner is like The Puppy Place but with cats. It's another series (Puppy place is like this) that you don't HAVE to read in order so, again, I'm not.
Series: The Kitty Corner
Book #: 2
Author: Ellen Miles
Age Level: 7+
Stars: 4 ½
·        I'm not a cat lover, but otherwise great
Violence: None
Pages: 85
Main Characters: Otis, Michael and Mia Battelli
          About the Main Characters:
Otis:  Otis is a stray cat found in an elevator by Michael & Mia Battelli and a worker named Pete. At first, Otis is scared but starts warming up to the family. Otis also likes music.
Michael & Mia Battelli: Michael and Mia are brother and sister. Michael is in 5th grade and Mia is in 3rd grade. They are both cat fans (unlike me) and have fostered 1 cat named Callie before Otis.
I would recommend this book for elementary cat lovers. It is a great book and it’s a cool story, especially when they find him in the elevator.
                                                Have a great day,
                                                          Adelaide

Puppy Place: Chewy and Chica

The Puppy Place: Chewy and Chica
I've been reading a lot this week, not just 'cuz I don’t have a lot of homework, but also because these Puppy Place and Kitty Corner (another series like puppy place) are REALLY good. This one is  about 2 chihuahuas that are rescued from a puppy mill.

Series: The Puppy Place
Book #: 19 (none of the books have their number on the cover)
Author: Ellen Miles
Age Level: 7+
Stars: 5
violence: 0.1 There is a demonstration in the book
pages: 132
Main Characters (M.C.): Chewy, Chica, Lizzie and Charles Peterson
Quotes from the book About the M.C.:
Chewy: “And I already thought of a name for him, Chewy. Because he's always bitting and chewing.”
Chica: “As mom parked the van, Lizzie looked down at the tiny black-and-white puppy in her lap and shook her head. She still couldn't believe what had just happened back there at the shelter.”
Lizzie and Charles Peterson: “Charles and Lizzie peterson love puppies. Their family fosters these young dogs, giving them love and proper care until they can find a perfect forever home.”

On the back:
Charles and Lizzie peterson love puppies. Their family fosters these young dogs, giving them love and proper care until they can find a perfect forever home.
Charles can't stand how Lizzie acts like a know-it-all about dogs. Lizzie is older and thinks charles should listen to what she says. So when twin chihuahua puppies need help, it becomes a competition. Who will find a home first for these super special pups?

I would recommend this book for Elementry school students who hate animal cruelty, especially dogs. I wish every state had puppy mill laws now.

                                                            Hope you love it,
                                                                        Adelaide

Puppy Place: Shadow

The Puppy Place: Shadow

Ok, so I'm not reading these books in order.  It’s not the type of series you HAVE to read in order, so I'm not. :) Shadow is about a black lab and is very smart. He ends up at a place where they train dogs to be guide dogs. (Guide dogs are dogs for blind and disabled people)
    Series: The Puppy Place
Book #: 3 (once again, not on the cover)
    Author: Ellen Miles
    Age Level: 8+
    Stars: 5
    Violence: None
    Pages: 71
Main Characters: Shadow, Lizzie and Charles Peterson
Quotes (from book) About Main Characters:
Shadow: “Shadow's a pretty special pup”, “He's a purebred Labrador retriever, with papers and everything”

Lizzie and Charles: Lizzie and Charles were both crazy about dogs.” (Lizzie) “She liked facts. Especially facts about dogs.” (Charles) “Lizzie sighed. Sometimes Charles just didn't listen”

    On the Back:
Charles and Lizzie Peterson love puppies. Their family fosters these young dogs, giving them love and proper care, until they can find the perfect forever home.
When the Petersons meet Shadow, they know he is special. He's a cute black lab, and he is extremely smart. Everyone agrees that Shadow will be the perfect puppy for someone. But where will this talented pup do the most good?

I would recommend this book for ages 8 and up because there are some things younger kids might not understand. Other than that anyone could enjoy it.

Enjoy,
Adelaide

The Puppy Place: Goldie

The Puppy Place: Goldie is about a family (the Peterson's  whose dad is a fireman, One day he brings home a puppy! The kids fall in love with it and the end up giving it to their neighbor.

          Charles Peterson:
Charles Peterson is Lizzie's Brother. He is in 2nd grade and his teacher is Mr. Mason. Charles really wants to keep her! He doesn't want families to even come over and look at Goldie. His BFF is Sammy, who lives next door.
